@YardbwoyG Outside of Tchouameni, who isn't likely imo, he'd be my choice. He's the most Carrick-like midfielder I've seen, and if we want to limit transitions we need players who can keep and progress the ball. Give me a playmaker/controller over a destroyer any day of the week.

If we don't go for Tchouameni I genuinely don't know who the automatic starter next to Mainoo would be.

All the other names feel like depth signings, or don't match as a pairing. Teams are making moves and we need to fill that spot before they've all gone or prices are inflated.

He did it a lot towards the end at United, just stands on the ball out wide and tries to pick someone out while standing still. Needs more resilience.

I get why United didn't go all out for Mateus Fernandes. But if Tchouameni is available, we have to pull the trigger. It's worth it. He is the definition of world class.

Exactly, good scouting can save us tens of millions, you just have to get them before the first big move, ie. Lammens.

Go get a Ligue 1 midfielder. If you don't want to pay PL prices then go shopping elsewhere, but accept the risk that comes with it.

Within the last two years, Matheus Fernandes was available for £40m, Elliot Anderson £35m, Yan Diomande £20m, Morgan Rogers £8m & Eli Jr Kroupi £10m. Feels like “big” clubs are going to have to start taking a few more risks in the transfer market to try and get ahead of the game.

Absolute best case scenario is that Rashford stays, finds some joy with Carrick and we all move on. It's a no brainer, I just hope it's not too far gone for him to consider staying.
