A video of the flag later surfaced on social media, with claims that the lettering resembled the shape of a rifle. Following the video’s circulation, police arrested three people, according to the information provided. One of those arrested was reportedly identified as Mubeen, the person who painted the flag.

A social media influencer, Maroof Raza Khan, has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly over remarks about Hindu deities that police said hurt religious sentiments.

A video of Khan has circulated on social media in which he discusses the Islamic concept of monotheism and responds to a comment about Lord Ram and Lord Krishna.

According to reports, Bareilly Police arrested Khan following a complaint over his remarks. He was subsequently sent to jail.

In the video, Khan refers to the Quranic concept that Allah has no children and says that Allah is the creator of the universe.

Responding to a comment mentioning Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, Khan is heard saying, “You are taking the names of Shri Krishna and Ram. They are not God; they were human beings.”

Muntazir, a madrasa student from Jainpur in Meerut, was allegedly assaulted by unidentified men while travelling by train from Meerut to Deoband. He reportedly sustained injuries during the assault. Following the incident, Muntazir got off the train at Khatauli station. The identities and motive of the alleged attackers were not immediately known.

24-year-old Hindu man Hemant groomed 13-year-old Muslim girl Yasmin.

He took her to Kedarnath under the pretext of a religious ritual, with plans to convert and marry her.

Yasmin told her family that Hemant had threatened to kill her and her family if she refused to marry him.

While returning from Kedarnath, Yasmin reportedly fell into a gorge, while Hemant survived unharmed.

Her family believes that Hemant pushed her into the gorge.

Yasmin was brought back to Delhi, where she later died during treatment.

The family alleges that the police failed to take serious action despite their complaints.

If the same case involved a Muslim man and a Hindu minor girl, this would have run on national media for months, with the entire Muslim community being blamed for the actions of one individual.

The Culprit: The Azamgarh Police cracked the case within 48 hours, arresting a 22-year-old neighboring woman named Babita Gond on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

The Motive: Babita entered Akbari's house during the day to steal money, knowing that the victim kept cash hidden underneath her bed.

The Crime: When Akbari caught her in the act, a scuffle ensued. Akbari hit her head against a wooden cot leg and fell unconscious. Fearing she would be exposed, Babita grabbed a vegetable-cutting knife from the kitchen and slit Akbari's throat.
