Today we remember Jo Cox, a British MP and former S&D colleague, who was murdered by a far-right extremist 10 years ago today.
Her famous words are essential to recall today:
“We are far more united and have far more in common with each other than things that divide us.”
We need to invest in homegrown tech and bring essential digital infrastructure into Europe.

Last Thursday the Cypriot presidency presented the draft proposal of the “Nego Box” in view of the forthcoming negotiations between the Council and the European Parliament on the EU multiannual budget.
I will make it simple: we can´t do more with less!
The allocation proposed in the draft is simply not enough and not fit for people’s needs.
The agreement between US & Iran, establishing a permanent ceasefire, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, is good news.
It also shows the absurdity of this illegal war that taught us that
• Democracy cannot be imposed by force
• 🇪🇺 needs to accelerate its strategic & energy autonomy
The past few months confirmed why the AI Act was necessary.
Once it was opened up, our responsibility was clear: to prevent simplification from turning into deregulation.
Another backward step for EU migration policy – far-right and EPP align again in @EP_justice tonight, backing highly controversial Return Regulation.
Far-right and EPP fixated on embedding ICE-style deportations and legally questionable ‘Return Hubs’ into EU law.
Tomorrow at 10:00 AM, don’t miss @TheProgressives press conference where @IratxeGarper our President, will outline the main priorities of the June plenary session.

The deal is good news.
But what did Trump and Netanyahu’s illegal war achieve? Thousands dead in Iran and Lebanon, a more radicalised Iranian regime and higher prices worldwide.
Reducing EU's dependence on oil and gas is urgently needed.
Where is the democracy they promised?
🚨Extremely concerned by the Cypriot presidency’s proposals in the draft negotiating positions of the Council regarding the next EU long-term budget 2028-2034, known as the Multiannual Financial Framework.

Increasingly, the law of the strongest prevails, says @antoniolscosta. But we’re standing up for policies to fight the housing crisis, combat climate change and build a better future for young people.
As Neruda said;
They can cut the flowers, but they can’t stop the spring!
History's always been changed by those who believed it could become something better and had the courage to fight for it.
We'll continue to fight for our ideals and deliver.
This is our task. This is our responsibility. And that's our promise.
@PES_PSE President Stefan Löfven
This is what strength looks like.
This is what hope looks like.
This is what Europe looks like - united, progressive, open, democratic.
We celebrate today our commitment to renew and continue our fight for a society that leaves nobody behind.
Stand with us!
We're stronger when we stand together. Not just in Europe, but all over the world.
Together with partners, we're laying the groundwork for a progressive mobilisation that stands the test of time. One that stands strong in the face of today's many chellenges.
Are you with us?✊
Joining from Spain, Prime Minister @sanchezcastejon gave a warm message:
🗨️ When fear becomes a political strategy, hope becomes a political responsibility.
This is our way of winning, because we believe that future can be better than the present.

Senator @BernieSanders joins us with a blistering message: Never have so few people owned so much wealth. And increasingly, so much media.
“They have the money and the power. We have the people!"
A strategic vision means knowing what people need and fighting for it.
Today, we unveil and discuss six new S&D Flagships to guide our work, focusing on sovereignty and affordability.
High-level politicians, academics, activists join the fight for a progressive Europe.
Our task as progressives matters more than ever: restore confidence in the future.
Spain proved it’s possible.
Our social, environmental and economic model is how we win.
We will ensure that progress belongs to the many, not the few, says Spanish PM @sanchezcastejon
"Europe needs a social democracy that can anticipate, lead & set the course." — @IratxeGarper opening our Group Open Dialogue on a European progressive future.
This strategic turns means us winning today's political fights and building a bold long-term vision for Europe. 🌹🇪🇺
