We apologise once again to everyone who had to witness that extremely inappropriate notification.

The good news is, we are back to keeping you safe from the sun (and spammers)! ☀️

[UVLens @UVLens]

We are still in shock about what happened, but here's a quick update.

Our team has confirmed that our own server and app were NOT compromised in any way.

We removed the current notification provider and will be switching to a new one to ensure this never happens again.

[UVLens @UVLens]

@LexaWoods07 @nourishandeat Yup we got it 😂

[UVLens @UVLens]

@amillionsharks You can only imagine our horror when we were notified about the message was sent to our users 😱 But I'm glad you understand and had a good laugh out of it.

p.s. we have since fixed this so no more lewd sun🌞(or dodgy spammers)

[UVLens @UVLens]

@ttexass A 3rd party push notification service was compromised and it appears that some of our users have been affected. However we have since put measures in place to stop this from happening again! So sorry you had to witness such a vulgar message.

[UVLens @UVLens]

@mallorymoore__ I'm glad we could provide some entertainment for the day 😂

However we have since stopped the breach so I don't think the hacker will be able to deliver any more comical value from this point forward...

We can offer some tips on UV though?

[UVLens @UVLens]

@queer_anthology We are okay now! There was an incident with the push notification provider this morning which caused that very inappropriate message to be sent around. We've since put in measures to prevent that from happening again. Sorry you had to see that!

[UVLens @UVLens]

@leopreo Sorry you had to see that. Glad it didn't load! We've put in measures to prevent this from happening again.

[UVLens @UVLens]

Urgent Attention! We’ve identified that a 3rd party push notification service has been compromised. A spammer has sent out a very inappropriate message through the network, including to some of our users. PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON ANY PUSH NOTIFICATION LINKS WITHIN THE LAST 24 HOURS

[UVLens @UVLens]

@Moodook255 Thanks! Glad you find the app useful for what it actually does.

We are trying to figure this out with them now.

[UVLens @UVLens]

@beautifulxtrash Thanks so much for understanding! We have contacted them and are awaiting more information. We don't want to disclose any providers yet as we respect it is a sensitive issue for them too. However it's our responsibility to ensure our users safety so we will switch if needed.

[UVLens @UVLens]

@LexaWoods07 @nourishandeat We typically specialize in UV predictions, not rain 😂

[UVLens @UVLens]

@nourishandeat We are okay now! We had a bit of a situation this morning with a 3rd party notification provider... However our team has since fixed this so @UVLens can go back to being a UV app! ☀️

[UVLens @UVLens]

@ThomasRestrepo9 Yeh we good! Thanks. We are just following up with everyone affected about what happened.

[UVLens @UVLens]

@LudoSklavo Also no, that is not how we normally notify people about extreme UV conditions!
