Many working in corporate skip buying personal health insurance thinking why to waste money in buying one outside when companies already providing health insurance.
First corporate insurance usually has very less coverage, mostly 4-8L base coverage which isn't much in today's time.
Second and this is the most important reason, with frequent layoffs happening these days, you're without job at any point of time and corporate insurance will no longer be valid after that, then if you go to take new insurance outside there will be waiting period for 2-3 years for Pre existing disease. Now if there is some health issues imagine fighting with it without job and without insurance.
Always take health insurance while on job so that PED waiting period of 2-3 years are passed and you can have a full fledged insurance in case of job loss.
