He is Lt. Gen. S N ( Nath) Sharma (PVSM, AVSM)
He is 102 years old (born on 3 October 1923). His wife is 97.

He was commissioned in 1944 and retired in 1981.

His illustrious family:
​Major Somnath Sharma (Elder Brother): The first-ever recipient of the Param Vir Chakra (PVC), India’s highest gallantry award, for his bravery in the 1947 Indo-Pak War.

​General Vishwa Nath Sharma (Younger Brother): Served as the 14th Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) from 1988 to 1990.

​Major General Amar Nath Sharma (Father): A military doctor who served as the Director of Medical Services (Army)

​Major Dr. Kamla Tewari (Sister): Also served in the Army Medical Corps.

He is a paratrooper - Remaining an avid parachutist well into his retirement, he conducted his last jump at the age of 86. He continues to drive. He drives to his farmhouse in Himachal Pradesh which is a good 10 hours journey. He was asked what does he eat, to which he replied: *“I eat everything except tension and stress”.*
