This Jeju Island case is actually disturbing. 😳

A 37-year-old woman, Jang Mi-ran, disappeared in Jeju on May 12. Her boyfriend reported her missing three days later.

But instead of properly investigating, a police officer allegedly told authorities that he had contacted her and that she was safe even though police records reportedly showed no such call ever happened.

The officer allegedly went further and deleted her information from the police missing-person system, effectively closing the case.

Her family kept searching, and the investigation was eventually reopened. The officer was later arrested after investigators reportedly discovered another missing-person case that had allegedly been handled in a similar way.

Then yesterday, 104 days after she disappeared, a body believed to be Jang Mi-ran was found in a grove in Jeju reportedly only about 1km from where she had been staying.

Police say there were no obvious signs of foul play so far, and the exact cause of death still needs to be confirmed.

But imagine if her case had been properly investigated from the beginning. 💔

A woman disappeared. Her case was allegedly falsified and closed. Her family kept looking. And more than three months later, she was found dead.

The investigation into what happened and why that police officer allegedly did what he did is still ongoing.

예전에 제주 여행 갔을 때 저녁에 유명한 고깃집 갔는데 다 먹고 숙소 돌아가려고 하니까 여자 사장님께서 나오시더니 걸어갈 거냐고 여쭤보시는 거임 그래서 여기��� 숙소까지 가까워서 걸어간다고 하니까 안 된다고 차 태워주겠다고 계속 그러시는 거임 그래서 호의를 계속 거절하기도 그래서 탔는데 데려다주시면서 여기서 사람 많이 없어졌다고 살인사건도 많고 실종된 사람들 많다. 근데 그냥 다 쉬쉬하는 거다. 그러면서 뒤에 얘기하신 게 근데 실종된 사람들은 다 관광객이다 관광객들은 어떻게 봐도 관광객으로 보이니까 노리면서 그런 것 같더라 이러면서 아무리 숙소까지 가까운 거리여도 택시 타고 다니라고 주의 주시면서 숙소 앞에 데려다 주시고 가심… 손님들 자주 데려다 주는 곳이고 워낙 유명해서 알 사람들은 알 듯

jadi di jeju itu ternyata banyak banget kasus orang hilang dan kasus pembunvhan tapi beritanya disembunyikan, tau-tau ketemu m4yatnya aja ☠️

OP ini cerita: dulu waktu liburan ke jeju, dia makan ke restoran daging terkenal. pas mau pulang, tiba-tiba pemilik resto (ibu-ibu) itu melarang OP buat pulang jalan kaki dan maksa OP untuk naik mobilnya aja

karena nggak enak, OP akhirnya jadi nebeng di mobil pemilik resto itu. selama diperjalanan, pemilik resto cerita kalau di area tsb sudah banyak orang hilang, pokoknya banyak banget kasus orang hilang/pembunvhan, tapi berita itu ditutupi/disembunyikan

pemilik resto juga ngasih tau kl yang hilang itu semuanya pasti wisatawan/turis, soalnya kan keliatan bgt kl mereka turis, jadi emang sengaja “diincar”

pemilik resto itu jg nyaranin better naik taxi, meskipun jarak ke penginapan itu dekat. terus quote RT dari tweet ini juga banyak bgt yang nyaranin untuk bawa mobil sendiri, soalnya emang se bahaya itu
