Had a productive meeting with the President of the European Council, António Costa (@eucopresident). I congratulated him on his new role and reaffirmed Kosova’s commitment to deepening relations with the EU and advancing our membership aspirations. During our bilateral meeting and joint dinner with the Western Balkan Six, HR/VP Kaja Kallas and DG Near Marta Kos, I raised concerns about the continued intimidation and threats to our security, including the recent terrorist attack on our critical infrastructure, and called for accountability.

Regional cooperation must be grounded in good-neighborly relations, which require mutual recognition and respect, accountability, and a shared commitment to peace.

Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming Danish members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, who have overwhelmingly supported Kosova’s bid to join Europe’s oldest institution. Democracy, the rule of law, and human rights are the three main pillars of the Council of Europe, in which Kosova has made great progress and has an advanced legal framework with expanded rights for minority communities. Our work is ongoing.

Today, the Parliament of Kosovo ratified the agreement with Denmark on using a correctional facility in Gjilan. This is a significant step towards a stronger partnership, highlighting the importance of cooperation in improving correctional services in both countries.

In today’s meeting with @Statsmin Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in Copenhagen, I expressed our deep gratitude for Denmark’s strong support for our country's Euro-Atlantic integration, especially towards joining the @CoE.

I also thanked Denmark for the contribution of over 13,000 Danish troops for peace and security in Kosovo since 1999. 🇽🇰🇩🇰
