At the end of July, I volunteered as a medical student in Cape Town, South Africa.
I especially thank Dr. Tahir Ebrahim and nurse Levona for all the knowledge, not only about medicine, but also about life and about this wonderful country I got to know.

During my observership at Stanford, I took the opportunity to visit some parts of Silicon Valley.
I'm very happy to have learned more about these companies that have changed the history of the world and the way it works today 💙💻

Being in a place like Stanford University is much more than a dream.
Having the opportunity to be in this place and even to experience for a moment the true experience of an American university was one of the best periods of my life. Incredibly grateful for everything 🙏🏻

I had the opportunity to experience a diverse range of hepatobiliary and pancreatic procedures at one of the world’s top hospitals. This immersive experience deepened my appreciation for medicine and underscored the significant impact of general surgery on patients’ lives ❤️🔪

Today, I received my halfway through medical school photos, and I paused for a moment to reflect on my journey so far, on who I am and who I want to be in medicine.
Very happy to have reached this point with the support of God and my family.
Bring on the other half! ❤️🩺

I also reflected on my maternal grandfather, a graduate of the second class at the Federal University of Goiás, who was a pediatric surgeon and an exceptional human being, my greatest role model, and how happy he would be that we are halfway to achieving our dream. I miss him 🫶🏻
