@URAuganda , Thanks for the beautiful service however , i have somw questions
1) Why does the 30% marginal tax rate begin at just UGX 485,000 when people must still cover housing, transport, food and other essential expenses?
2) Why aren't PAYE thresholds reviewed regularly against inflation and actual household living costs?
3) How much measurable improvement in public services do taxpayers receive for every additional trillion shillings collected?
4) What is being done to help businesses grow, create better-paying jobs and expand the tax base instead of relying excessively on existing taxpayers?
@ManUtd@ManUtd INEOS and the high-ups are killing our club. The cost-cutting, thin squad, and corporate meddling have left us completely exposed. We need a total boardroom reset. Buy out the INEOS shares and bring football people back to revive the club. Manchester United is bleeding.

@UCC_Official UCC's own complaints guidelines give you 30 working days to deal with cases. In 2026, how many ISP complaints met that deadline? How many led to refunds, service fixes or penalties? Please publish current results by provider. That is accountability people can measure.
@UCC_Official@UCC_Official, Section 5 says your job is not just to license ISPs but to protect consumers too. We see urgent meetings about hotspot seller. Where is the same urgency when Ugandans complain about unreliable service, disputed data deductions and paying for what they don't receive
@UCC_Official@Bbossa If an ISP fails a customer, UCC is meant to step in. But if UCC's process fails the customer, who checks UCC? Is going to court realistic over a small data bundle? Should Parliament create stronger independent consumer protection with affordable appeals?
@UCC_Official@Bbossa ,@UCC_Official is supposed to regulate service providers and protect the people who pay for their services. So who holds the regulator accountable when consumers aren't getting what they pay for?
@UCC_Official UCC, the referee met the biggest players, agreed smaller rivals must leave the field, yet says the rules for their return are still "being explored." Before invoking public interest, publish independent evidence that this improves competition, affordability and consumer welfare.
@UCC_Official@UCC_Official , How convenient. Established ISPs meet with their regulator, agree their smaller competitors must stop, yet a lawful pathway is still “being explored.” Is this fair competition or protecting the status quo? Where is the evidence that consumers will be better off?
@mtnug Nothing , there is nothing nice nor lovely . You guys lack humilty and Excellence , i keep asking myself , what happened to the MTN we all knew , the MTN of this generation has no prospects
@UCC_Official@kacita_uganda@UCC_Official this consultation is a positive step. South Africa has a licence-exemption route for certain resellers; Kenya recognises micro/community networks. Can the committee assess similar options and publish costs, security requirements and a realistic transition period?
@Bbossa@BUTD100 you've explained what the law prohibits. But where is UCC's independent impact assessment demonstrating that shutting down hotspot operators who buy capacity from licensed ISPwill improve affordability, security and service quality rather than strengthen existing market dominance
@Bbossa@johnkennyadeya Mr. Bbossa, if an entrepreneur pays Airtel for a dedicated link, Airtel is paid for that capacity. Businesses buy inputs and earn from them every day. Why is using purchased bandwidth to serve customers treated differently? Identify the actual harm, not just the fact of resale.
@kirya_ug@Bbossa He can't answer because the very people capable of auditing these companies are being put on hold, while those with the authority to act somehow don't know what to do. Meanwhile, consumers are being cheated, and the institutions meant to protect us simply let it continue.
@Bbossa@BUTD100@Bbossa by that reasoning should market vendors buying from farmers and distributors also seek permission from suppliers before reselling? They buy in bulk and serve customers who cannot afford bulk purchases. Why is this business model suddenly a problem when applied to internet?
@kirya_ug Looks like we need another body just to babysit institutions already paid to serve us. WHY are they paid? WHAT do they actually deliver? WHERE are the results? HOW is performance measured? What ACTION follows failure? Public service must be measured by outcomes, not titles.
@Bbossa@kirya_ug@UCC_Official@Bbossa@UCC_Official , Section 22 requires licensing, while Sections 52–53 address fair competition. If UCC is still developing a pathway for small Wi-Fi operators, why the 7-day ultimatum? And where are the latest public QoS and security compliance results for licensed ISPs?
