Someone saved my life after I got pulled out to sea. We were on floats and mine got swept in after a big wave. My friend got swept to shore. I got stuck in a riptide and I was about to give up. There were like 50 people watching me and no one would help.
I prayed the Jacob prayer (if you save me) and a guy started running and jumped into the ocean and came and got me, dragged me to shore, and ran off before I could so thank you. So if he ever sees this THANK YOU! 🙏🏻
PRAISE GOD for men like this in the video above. Thank God for them.
NEW: Oceanside, California surf instructor saves a young girl after she started drowning in the ocean.
Lucas Taub was coaching a surfer when a father and daughter got caught in a riptide during a surfing competition.
“He jumped into action with all his clothes on. He didn't have to, his instincts kicked in that someone was in trouble. He saved their lives...” said Kingston Buchhagen on IG.
“Lucas coaches a lot of people, both kids and young adults, he is a huge part of the surfing community and a coach for the Westcliff College surf team…”
“He practiced what he preaches. Being a surfer doesn't just mean going to the beach and riding waves, it doesn't just mean you're part of a beach community either. It means you keep an eye out for each other in the water, friend or not, knowing them or not.”
“…Lucas did what needed to be done in that moment. He should be really proud of the example he set to all his students and fellow humans. For that he should be thanked… Thank you Lucas.”
Hero.

My first surf lesson turned ocean fear into joy.
At 23, during my first surf lesson in Florida, US, I stood and rode a little white-water wave after once being terrified of the ocean.
I spent 19 years in New York before moving to Florida. Now I work three jobs, but any spare two hours take me back to the beach. If a shift starts at eight, I’ll still try to catch the sunrise first.
Buying a paddleboard gave me the nudge. I caught a wave on it, booked one lesson and wondered whether I’d left surfing too late.
My pop-up was messy. I pushed through my arms, struggled to turn my foot and sat too far back. The coach said it needed work.
But I was standing.
A first pushed wave isn’t mastery. It’s the moment you realise the board can carry you—and that you want to learn how to paddle in earlier, keep your weight centred and do it yourself.
The ride lasted seconds. The pride stayed with me.
Twenty-three isn’t too old. Fear doesn’t get the final say.
Body surfing might be one of the purest ways to experience a wave, no board, no equipment, just you, gravity, and the raw power of the ocean.😳🌊
When everything lines up, the wave does the rest… although everyone else in the lineup might want to clear the way. 😂🏄♂️

At the 1989 MTV Awards, Tom Petty started "Free Fallin'" alone, then Axl Rose emerged from the shadows to join him.
Two completely different voices, Petty's laid-back drawl and Axl's howl, sharing one mic. Nobody saw it coming.
