Met Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh ji, on August 28, 2025 along with a delegation of RWAs to raise the serious issue of stray dogs.

The Hon’ble Supreme Court has clearly ruled that aggressive stray dogs can be shifted to shelters. Unfortunately, the existing Animal Birth Control (ABC) rules contradict this, and some animal rights activists mislead people by ignoring the Court’s judgment.

We urged the Minister to take necessary steps so that citizens are protected from aggressive stray dogs, while also ensuring a balanced and humane solution.

Meanwhile, in what the @MCD_Delhi planned to convert into a shelter, a dog was found in this condition.

The dog was found locked in a washroom on the 2nd floor, left to die a lonely, miserable death. Is this the सोने की चिड़िया we're building?

Thankfully, he was rescued by a brave set of compassionate people. 🙏🏾🙏🏾

If a 3 judge bench of the Supreme Court has revised its order in favor of stray dogs after due consideration, it only shows the problem was never as big as it was being projected.

They can return to their areas after sterilisation & vaccination.
Feeding allowed only in designated zones set by civic authorities.
