She admitted, “Tears started streaming down my face. I was heartbroken. I wanted this movie so badly.”

Cher finally fired back: “You didn't find me under a rock. I was nominated for an Academy Award for Silkwood. And I got the Cannes Film Festival award for best actress for Mask... So, goodbye!”

Despite it all, she landed the role and ironically ended up filming the movie's scene where she is the one insulting Jack Nicholson for his character's narrow mentality.
