They have those 12 years of info available in an instant, of course they are capable of piecing it together quicker.

FNaF by no means has great storytelling, but half the problem in how bad it looks is people who didn't make the story presented their interpretations as if they're objective.

Disconnected narratives that tie back to Freddy's, but ultimately self contained stories that are anthologies rather than needing to always be part of a bigger whole.
