A model to follow: Spain has banned the intimidation and harassment of women entering abortion clinics.

In Spain, reproductive healthcare is free for those women who need it. But they've gone a step further, and are taking action against fanatics who harass women outside of the abortion clinics.

Anyone who's found to be harassing a woman going into an abortion clinic is deemed to be committing a crime that's punishable with up to one year in prison.

Anti-abortion groups said in response that their gatherings outside abortion clinics were organized not to harass the vulnerable women, but to "pray and offer help to the women." The Spanish government wasn't buying it.

Every year, countless women face harassment and intimidation as they arrive at reproductive healthcare providers like Planned Parenthood.
