@ABDanielleSmith Danielle,
If you’re trying to attract people to Alberta
- Why are you following David Parker policies who wants to chase them away?
Why are you giving $330,000,000 to a billionaire in the UK?
Why are you allowing a billionaire in Australia to construct open pit mines?
#Ableg
Why is the media not making more noise about Seniors in Alberta having to hand out $300 for #RSV Vaccine that is $600 per couple. While the #UCP subsidize billionaires. @CBCCalgary@calgaryherald@CTVCalgary@GlobalCalgary https://t.co/Y3cJ2QORpi
I contributed to my CPP since I was 18. My employers also contributed. The Alberta government never contributed a penny. Why should they get any say in how it’s paid out to me? This is theft.
Of all the things in this province (and country) that needed fixing or tweaking……….
The CPP is absolute last on that list.
It’s well funded, well managed, and one of the best returning pensions in the world.
As a retired person, I greatly appreciate the contributions made both by myself & my employers during my working life.
The #CPP is not a #Tax, but a deferred benefit.
It's a promise of payment when you are no longer working.

Under 8 years of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (2015-2023):
2016 — $3.2 Billion Surplus
2018 — $3.1 Billion Surplus
2021 — $3.58 Billion Surplus
2022 — $5.3 Billion Surplus
2023 — $1.5 Billion Surplus
Under PM Harper, 8 consecutive deficits, 2 recessions, and ZERO confirmed surpluses in 9 years (2006-2015)! #Poilievre wants to take our economy back to the Harper era!
This is why the better educated a Canadian is the more they support Trudeau!

Things the UCP denied during the election that are now back on the table:
- opting out of CPP
- bring hundreds of tax collectors to run our own office
- provincial police force
I wish I could claim to be even a little surprised. #AbLeg
“Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says restructuring AHS to place more managers in smaller communities will help to restore essential care in regional health centres.”
Danielle Smith, who campaigned on AHS having too many managers is hiring more managers.

The UCP wants to get rid of the RCMP so they have control over a provincial police force that will do its political bidding. This represents a clear threat to our democracy. Powerful & important piece from the former chair of the Calgary Police Commission. https://t.co/OCskSEbS9y
.@Alberta_UCP MLA who was demoted in 2021 for vacationing during COVID advisory is again criticized for his travel timing.
Jason Stephan was absent Tuesday when UCP MLAs were sworn-in at the legislature. He’s gone for 4.5 months. Priceless. #ableg https://t.co/M67iiypg4w
This is just one reason of many why I supported a serious, qualified candidate in @MichelleBaerNDP for MLA for Red Deer South.
The incumbent is literally lost. MIA as usual. Amazing. Sad.
that he's got to pull up his socks and work to earn the trust he's been given by the voters of Red Deer South.
Apparently, not.
It's going to be a painful 4 years.

"Choosing to leave your constituents without representation is a shameful display of contempt for the Albertans who voted for him. The people of Red Deer deserve better,” [Christina] Gray added. #ableg#alohagate2
The worst part about Jason Stephan deciding to go on vacation and get sworn in as MLA 4.5 months from now?
He WILL get paid for all of those months despite abandoning his duties and the people of Red Deer who elected him.
If you don't want to do the job, let someone else.
The MLA-elect for Red Deer South took a pass on his swearing-in this week…
…because he skipped town to go on holidays.
So his constituents won’t have full representation for an indefinite period of time.
The UCP do not respect the rule of law or democratic institutions.
A UCP MLA chose to skip the swearing in. That means he can’t preform many of the duties of his job, but he still gets paid. This is a violation of public trust.
The UCP has a whip - whose job it is to enforce discipline. So guess the UCP has 2 MLAs not doing their jobs. #AbLeg
.@DanielleSmith UCP MLA, Jason Stephan, chose not to attend his swearing in today. He left on vacation and wants to be sworn in 4.5 months from now.
His total disregard for the reverence of being elected leaves his constituents unrepresented, yet he gets paid. Wow!!!

Just got home from work to see that Jason Stephan is trending.
In case you missed it, Jason Stephan went on vacation this week and skipped the swearing-in ceremony at the Legislature. Now he can't sit in the legislature, and will need a private swearing-in, likely in the fall.+
