Among his crew and chief officers, A/Lieutenant Copeland received a Fire Chief Commendations for saving a man's life.
While off duty, he encountered a man suffering a mental health crisis and bravely intervened preventing significant harm.
VFRS thanks him for his actions.
This morning firefighters received multiple calls for an outdoor fire spreading into homes on the 200 Block of E 11th ave. Firefighters extinguished the dumpster fire and adjacent tree fire from spreading into the homes. Fire was intentionally set (incendiary). No injuries.
Firefighters have a 3rd SRO unit fire extinguished on the 300 Block of Powell Street. No injuries reported. Fire investigator called for cause and origin.

@Eddiedrives1975@SteveSaretsky We average 10-15 fires per day in the city. We have about 4,000 fires a year. Add on top of that, fire alarms, hazardous materials, rescues, car accidents, etc...

Firefighters are on scene on the 100 block of W Hastings street for a vault fire and subsequent gas leak. Fire under control, gas shut off, residents alerted, hydro on scene, Abbott street closed between W Pender and W Hastings St. No injuries reported.
