Thank you @Biz_Retail for publishing this. Frank conversation about inclusion isn’t comfortable and unsurprisingly doesn’t find itself in the pages of many publications.
Not only is this disrespectful to black lives, it is also evidence of an absence of representation and diversity within the organization. And we are talking about a South Africa with a population of about 80% black people (stand to be corrected). No ways💔 @Clicks_SA
.@VasantDivya, Businesswoman and Founder of Amazi Beauty speaks about the different challenges she faced in her career when it comes to occupying space as a woman.

Synchronicity at work! I’ve put out my wish to share space with @FabAcademic into the universe so many times and I was gifted the opportunity to do so 🙏🏾
“Regret”?!!
Many “mom and pop” retail stores rely on December to make their annual profits - only to now be confronted with half the trading hours in a day. The timing of this round of “Load-Shedding” has far deeper and more painful knock-on effects than mere inconvenience.
@KatlehoT 😂😂😂 exactly the same. Except I’m pretending to do something on my phone. Once pretended I was on a call only for the phone to actually ring while it was against my ear 🤦🏾♀️
@KatlehoT @AmaziBeauty You have fashion retailers launching collaborations with local designers and local product makers. Great. How about the number of businesses they exclude from the market because their free rental means the very same local businesses are charged unaffordable rates? Paradox of note
@KatlehoT @AmaziBeauty Ontop of which your big retailers get to enjoy free space or massively subsidized rentals. Guess who is subsiding those rentals? The small businesses who can Breakeven. And the irony, these big retailers are on massive PR drives about how they empower local, small business
Talk about one of the biggest barriers to entry for businesses in SA. Malls. Layer in that property is male dominated and you’re a young female founded team. It takes a year to fight for 1 new location.
