As a trainee ACP I feel I can add value to my practice if I were able to become an NMP. This would give me the freedom to provide true continuity of care to my patients and free up our doctor's.
@smonio1@helenwenger @ACP_SarahA @UHDBTrust I have not said ODPs working in the capacity of an ACP can prescribe. I am asking the question whether we should be empowered to do so if we were legally allowed to.
#ODPs offer invaluable #PatientCare
ACP/SCP are identified, recognised career paths for us but are hindered by our inability to undertake NMP (prescribing), or are they?
Use #ODP4ACP to highlight ODPs in #AdvancedPractice roles
Together we can #ShapeOurFuture
@ACP_SarahA @helenwenger@smonio1@UHDBTrust Whilst the conversation is useful, I dont want people to get too hung up about prescribing. I appreciate ACP is not, or should be defined by NMP rights. I think there should be a level playing field.

@ACP_SarahA @VascPracPaul Part 2 - ODP’s can undertaken the prescribing course but, as you rightly say, the HCPC need to update the regulations so that they can use this qualification in practice to benefit their patients. Similar to paramedics last year being allowed to become prescribers.
@ACP_SarahA @helenwenger I have just begun MSc and I have been given the go ahead to do the NMP https://t.co/GaSnd0DElb preparation for legislative change
