@MathieuFredric1@AmalIbourk Agreed. I have mostly seen it used in a math class but I think it can be used for other subjects. Yes, I too think ELA instruction is more beneficial when in person.
@HannahDavis_19 @AshlynHendrix3 @AmalIbourk Hannah, I can relate to that nervousness and feeling like technology is distracting students from the learning goal at hand. I like how in this class, we have learned of ways to check for if the technology has the potential to enhance student learning before even implementing it
@rach31em@AmalIbourk I agree with your point Rachel. There are many resources out there but not all are fit for use within the classroom. I definitely think the Triple E Framework will help us to determine the appropriate tools when lesson planning. #EME5050Su19Sec1
@lauren_tuscan For one of my explorations, I was able to find a virtual tour of Antarctica! It allowed you to see the penguins on rocks and where researchers live. It was really neat especially since students are likely not going to be able to visit Antarctica.

@AmalIbourk An aha was learning the Triple E Framework. It showed me there was a way to evaluate the effectiveness of the tech in terms of meeting learning goals. I can see how technology can benefit teaching when used as a way to enhance or make connections with content #EME5050Su19SEC1
@ajpodchaski A5: Yes, and I agree with Sarah in that is hard to watch yourself but it is needed. In the video you may catch yourself doing and saying things you do not realize you even do. It helps you acknowledge and enact changes to better your teaching. #edtechchat
@ajpodchaski In my class , I recently learned about the Triple E framework (engage, enhance, extend) when it comes to evaluating the of technology in a classroom in terms of learning #edtechchat
@ajpodchaski A1: A class should not just revolve around video play. However, technology is such a big part of our lives today that it should play a role in the classroom. Video play, such as educational games, can enhance learning goals when used in an engaging way. #edtechchat
@ajpodchaski A3: Student created videos allows them to have a voice. It opens up a platform for them to discuss and collaborate with their fellow classmates. #edtechchat
@sh_khorst I definitely agree with your point Katie! More perspectives allows for students to gather more knowledge on a topic to form their own ideas and connections! #edtechchat
@AlexVKluge@ajpodchaski Skype is a really neat tool to use in the classroom! You can have students talk with people who are experts in the material students are learning about. It can give them a real world connection. #edtechchat
When used in the right way, with a connection to the material being learned, virtual and augmented reality can enhance student learning! #waystoengagestudents#learningisfun
If you think #BlendedLearning and #PersonalizedLearning = students on screens all day, it's time to check your assumptions. https://t.co/WlRmLk9yFx Awesome to see innovative instruction that supports students and strengthens relationships. @edutopia@Kareemfarah23
In the classroom, we need to put content learning goals before the technology. It should not be how much technology you can fit within a class but picking tech that enhances learning along with the teaching. Quality over quantity when it comes to edtech #nofalseengagement
