Works in the Development sector; is bemused by the politicking these days . Interested in understanding the voting behaviour of women in developing countries.
Fifteen years ago, @UN_Women's Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces initiative began with a simple but transformative idea: women and girls must help shape the cities they live in.
Today, the initiative spans more than 75 cities in 36 countries, with New Delhi among its five founding cities. The lesson from 15 years of action is clear: safety cannot be an afterthought. It must be built into how cities are planned, designed, governed and financed — from streets and public transport to markets, services and digital public spaces. As this important article from
@the_hindu highlights, designing cities with women, not simply for women, is essential. Women’s lived experiences, evidence and leadership must inform decisions from the start so that mobility expands choices rather than limits them.
As we mark 15 years of progress, our task is to turn this learning into the cities of tomorrow — through sustained political will, investment and partnership among governments, city authorities, women’s rights organizations, communities, researchers and the private sector. Women and girls are not only users of our cities. They are partners in designing their future.

"I am here on vacation, Hindu-Muslim are helping each other. The society must not divide at any cost after Pahalgam " 👏
Our Country is a paradise- everything is perfect. No inflation, no unemployment, no global tensions. The real issues? Nehru, Emergency, Mughals, Partition, Sikh riots, Dr Ambedkar and Indus Valley Civilization’s urban planning flaws. Truly, we are in a golden era of priorities.

NEW: I spent months tracking every single dollar AIPAC spent this year. This investigation paints a picture of just how much the pro-Israel lobbying group has reshaped elections after starting to spend directly on candidates just 2 years ago 🧵 https://t.co/7cbJp8bIbx
