elayna is the one person ive been thinking about this whole time. to imagine being a 14 year old getting harassed and bullied by someone you look up to so deeply is heartbreaking:( please support elayna through everything
I AM GENUINELY SO ANNOYED THAT PEOPLE WHO WEREN'T AFFECTED ARE MAD AT ME FOR NOT FORGIVING HIM 😭😭😭 THIS WHOLE SITUATION HAS AFFECTED ME SO MUCH LIKE I CAN'T JUST FORGIVE HIM BECAUSE HE APOLOGIZED I DIDN'T GET A DIRECT APOLOGY EITHER SO 💔
Omg yall read the thread before making an opinion. most of your issues be answered by reading the apology??? Yes first impressions matter, yes this was a bad first impression to the apology, no he isnt blaming it on his autism 🤦♂️🤦♂️
I appreciate coming clean and acknowledging these issues about yourself especially long before anyone else has, but I can't take this apology in good faith when it opens with an attempt for us to sympathize with you.
A lot of this response does feel hand wavy, especially the mention of apologizing to people individually. Several big names have already come out saying they were never even contacted, and I know a lot of other people weren’t as well. I think people don’t have to forgive michael.
@fernozzle That was an honest and good apology, I forgive you, Michael. But starting your apology with "I’ve been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder" isn’t a very smart move since it made some people jump into conclusion too fast.
I think this does seem like a genuine apology and he is trying to improve, but I really don't like using the Autism diagnosis as the opening line. I know he's not using it as an excuse, but having it be the first thing you read really feels deflective imo.
rephrasing: I’m glad Michael’s bettering himself but there’s really no excuse for his constant harassment and “baiting”.
I don’t like the people trying to control how others should feel about this situation because frankly, he was 28 and should’ve really known better
Even though I don’t think this is a bad response, I feel like starting it off with saying “I got diagnosed with autism” will cause a lot of people to get the wrong idea and assume that your using it as an excuse.
i'm glad he's trying to do better but what's done is done and it hurts alot that someone i look up to so much was doing something like that in my replies sorry . like i gen had a meltdown whe i found out it was actually him because he was mean to me about 4x and that hurts
@jazzy_wazzy63 I very much agree.
(also just to clarify, since I know you were one of the people who replied to my initial reply, that wasn’t what I meant to say and I’m sorry I didn’t really explain what I meant properly. I rephrased it now.)
all im going to say is you guys need to actually read the response before commenting. by all means you should not forgive him if you dont want to, personally its NOT my place to forgive him, but READ HIS RESPONSE before jumping him guys please hes not using autism as an excuse 😭
this is a mess. all in all im glad hes trying to improve. but i really dont see how the autism diagnosis needs to be front and centre here. feels weird to focus on. okay response but it doesnt really do it for me
