I watched the film Toxic yesterday thanks to my dear friend Yash for screening it. I was wondering how the director Geethu Mohandass had conceptualized beyond cinematic imagination and executed the scenes well.

Yash needs a special mention for his performance in handling difficult scenes with ease specially in the climax. I feel one should watch this movie for many reasons as it has technical excellence and individual performances and picturization.

A little ahead of its time. I appreciate the team's efforts. Please watch and make your own opinion.

As an artist, when you play a character, you try to bring it to life from the bottom of your heart. And here, I am truly impressed by the conviction with which the struggle of a powerful man has been portrayed.

Maybe the plot and driving characters are not on the usual track on which most films travel, but that doesn’t mean the track is wrong. The effort that goes into telling a story, and the journey it takes from being a thought in the mind to becoming a film on screen, is humongous.

@TheNameIsYash sir, hats off to the way you have surrendered yourself to a character and a world that demands a larger-than-life performance. I could clearly feel that in every single scene.

It’s not easy to give the audience an experience of how guilt multiplies and increases the toxicity in life. I stand with you for attempting this daring experiment, sir.

We love you for the love you have for taking Kannada cinema to the global stage.

The most INSENSITIVE tweet I hve seen on the internet today. And the timing makes it even worse.. right when a big budget Indian film has released.. a film that is actually an ADULT PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER.

People are entitled to their opinions. They can love it, hate it, troll it or praise it. That is social media. And yes, #Toxic is obviously an easy target for engagement farming.

But when a filmmaker I once genuinely admired reduces himself to this level of engagement bait... it says a lot.

I have followed Ram Gopal Varma since the beginning.. and I can say this with complete confidence:

He hasn’t watched #Toxic.

If he had actually watched the film.. he would not have posted something this ridiculously insensitive. He simply saw a trend, smelled an engagement opportunity and jumped into the current.

Until 26 August 2026, despite all the bizarre things he has said, done and made over the years, I still had a certain respect for RGV as a filmmaker.

After this act? ZERO.

Before tweeting, at least understand what you’re talking about. Look at the film’s GENRE, AGE RATING, CONTEXT and TARGET AUDIENCE before pretending to make a point.

And let’s be very clear.. I have personally praised and promoted #Dhurandhar more than perhaps 99% of people on the internet. But using #Dhurandhar as a prop to manufacture engagement around #Toxic only exposes the level of insensitivity behind this tweet.

My sincere request to filmmakers: stop taking this man seriously as a filmmaker.

Because at this point, he doesn’t come across as a filmmaker or even as someone representing the film fraternity.

He comes across as a full-time social-media engagement farmer jo kabhi films banata tha/banata hai.

And his obsession with AI has reached another level. Day and night.. he lectures everyone about AI as if the world is ending tomorrow. 😂

Ironically.. while constantly talking about the future, he seems to have completely missed how the value, curiosity and expectations around content are evolving among today’s audiences.

At this point, there is barely any difference between rage-baiting internet clowns and RGV.

Filmmaking jaye toh jaye.. par engagement farming kabhi na jaye.

Just want to say this, @TheNameIsYash — you’ve genuinely tried something out of the box rather than taking the predictable route of making another regular, expected, formulaic follow-up to your previous commercial blockbuster.

#Toxic is an unusual and commendable attempt. There are several portions that are genuinely intriguing and open to great debate, discussion, and learning.
