Your SS gets taxed again...Single: Up to 50% taxable above $25,000; up to 85% above $34,000. Married filing jointly: Up to 50% above $32,000; up to 85% above $44,000. It is insulting to listen to politicians who want to tax the wealthy for government programs, but yet do nothing about this tax on the middle class. Making 25,001 dollars is not wealthy by today's standards, nor is 32,000 or 44,000 considered wealthy nowadays. Back in the 1980s, it was, but why hasn't this been changed? Why have the politicians allowed this double tax on retirees to continue to happen after all these years? This is not just a Democrat Party issue; the GOP, which has been in power, has done nothing with it either. While I applaud the efforts of Ukraine for defending its country and admire how successful drones have hit key targets in Russia, it hasn't reversed the overall occupation map in a strategic way. Ukraine needs to develop its own ballistic missiles, which would be a game-changer, and air defense needs to be strengthened, as Russia has a ton of resources to use.
