BREAKING: President @Zourabichvili_S announces that she does not recognize the elections results and call the people to join her. Zurabishvili asks people to join the protest at Rustaveli tomorrow at 7PM.

President tells the Georgian people that they won these elections, and nobody has the right to take that away from us. This was outright election fraud—a complete theft of votes, a Russian special operation, a new form of hybrid aggression by Russia. 🧵 A few reactions on the EU elections results:

1. The EU election - being 27 parallel elections - failed to provide 1 clear message, thus failing on its raison d'être: to elicit EU voters’ political preference for the Union (not their countries, as it caricaturally happened in France)

2. Contrary to most storylines, these EU elections DIDN’T give the EU away to the far-right (albeit these parties gets a record-high number of seats).

3. Pro-EU majority holds, but weakened: if it had 405 out of 720, now it will have approx. 401 out of 705. Given the 361 majority, this appears a comfortable majority but definitely not enough to secure von der Leyen’s 2nd term.

4. The French snap elections set to affect post-EU elections, notably the:
- formation of parliamentary groups (Le Pen/Bardella focusing on France not the EU) and
- top appointments (EPP not RENEW calling the shots)

5. EU turn out appears stable matching the record-high of 2024 despite the 27 national electoral votes, limited campaigning and Qatargate

6. Major surge of unaffiliated MEPs (e.g. Fidesz, M5S, etc.) who may play a role in reshuffling existing groups and shape new political cycle.

7. Overall, EU politics appears not only more fragmented, but also less intelligible than ever before.

8. The post-elections period will be uniquely convoluted and driven by both endogenous (e.g. French elections, Dutch gov't formation, etc) and exogenous (e.g. Ukraine, US presidential elections, etc).

В Румъния се строи огромна база, която ще е сред най-големите бази в Европа и най-голямата база на САЩ на континента, засенчвайки дори Рамщайн в Германия. Тази база ще обслужва интересите на Румъния и ще носи допълнителна защита в район, който става все по-милитаризиран, заради действията на Руската федерация в Черно море и войната в Украйна. Северна Македония обучава украински войници и по отношение на Украйна няма две мнения - в този смисъ��, Скопие има напълно натовско поведение. Хърватия има същата политика, въпреки опитите на руското лоби.

В България?

Краткосрочни планове, базирани на локално мислене ��одят страната към задълбочаване на политическата криза, което може да има последици. Станата не само изпитва трудности да обясни на населението защо е нужно да се създаде инфраструктура за 2000 войници от НАТО, но и защо е важно да се извършат ударни реформи в сектор сигурност и отбрана.

Последните събития в България са базирани единствено на накърнено его и чувството, че всичко е лично. Липсата на стратегическо мислене е явно не само заради факта, че се саботират усилията за създаване на център за стратегическа комуникация (Стратком) по подобие на други европейски държави, но и в невъзможността да се проумее колко е критичен периодът, в който се намираме.

За мнозина извън тези ��роцеси не е понятно колко е трудно прокарването на реформи и вина за това донякъде има и лошата комуникация с обществото. Екипът на Тагарев опитва от дълги месеци да направи промени, срещайки съпротива и трудности на всяка крачка. Не говорим само за съществуващия проруски кръг за влияние и натиск в основните институции, а и за нежеланието на партийни структури да проведат и подкрепят промени. Само за промяната на един кратък документ от няколко параграфа бяха нужни няколко месеца усилия и това е показателно.

Всяко отлагане, всяка проява на инат и късогледство, е лоша новина. Институциите на бива да спират дори за ден, но в момента вървим към задънена улица, което е добре дошло за Руската федерация и нейните съюзници в България.
