Today marks a monumental milestone for our community as we officially cut the ribbon on the new Texas Behavioral Health Center at @UTSWMedCenter, right here in House District 100!
The 505,000-square-foot facility will house 292 beds – 200 for adult patients and 92 for children and adolescents. As DFW’s first state-funded behavioral health hospital, it is designed to deliver state-of-the-art, patient-centered care in a modern and healing environment. The center provides comprehensive behavioral health treatment and features private patient rooms, abundant natural light, access to nature, and thoughtfully designed spaces that promote recovery. The hospital will also provide training to all behavioral health disciplines.
A project of this magnitude takes a village, and I am incredibly proud to have stood alongside this bipartisan effort to improve access to mental health care in Texas. Special thanks to State Representative Toni Rose as she led the effort to secure state funding for this center in the Texas House. Thank you to State Senator Royce West for his leadership in the Texas Senate.
Together, we are building a healthier Texas!

Republicans are going to continue to make attempts to steal elections, and
deny the will of Texans. This potential decision should be alarming! Like red alert 🚨

🚨Families in Dallas and across Texas are being left behind. 🚨
The latest federal jobs data confirms what we already feel at the kitchen table: the labor market is stalling while the cost of living skyrockets. With gas prices surging 36% in Dallas and economists warning of a looming recession, our working families—and especially Black and Brown communities—are bearing the heaviest burden.
We cannot ignore the economic reality facing our neighbors. It is time for real solutions that address rising costs and ensure no Texan is left behind in this economy.

Dallas begins removing 30 “political” crosswalks — including Pride flags in Oak Lawn and the Black Lives Matter crosswalk near Fair Park.
State Rep. @VentonJonesTX calls it a “political distraction from Gov. @GregAbbott_TX ” @FOX4
Strong communities care for every generation. From homelessness intervention and support, to youth programs and senior services, my focus is ensuring HD 100 remains a place where everyone can thrive.

Today, we pause to remember the six million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust and the millions of others targeted by hatred, antisemitism, and genocide.
On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the victims, listen to the lessons of history, and reaffirm our responsibility to confront hate in all its forms.
Memory is an act of justice. Remembrance is a commitment.
