Yesterday my house bill 2272, which would reduce taxes on feminine hygiene products and diapers, was voted out of committee! Glad to have wrapped my bill with Rep Mark Sharp and Rep Dottie Bailey. The next step is the house floor. #MoLeg
Good news: The Recovering America’s Wildlife Act has passed out of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee in an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote. This historic bill will help #BringBirdsBack, along with recovering other wildlife and improving our natural spaces.
@alc_anthro Okay, I get where you're coming from, thanks for sharing. My point was in the fact that many countries, including but not just Sweden, with lax policy will now have to contend with supporting large newly disabled populations. Which is deeply concerning
Lrt please note that Sweden has just let covid rip through their country on purpose with minimal communication of its dangers to the people and no mandating of masking or other preventative measures
@alc_anthro I suppose if you consider long term increased risks for other serious medical conditions like diabetes and the blood issues cited in the article this post is referring to as a "success". There's more than just survival rates you know? Here's the link again https://t.co/xH56WVF9E0
Scientists from across Germany blocked a bridge near the German Parliament, glueing and locking on in an act of civil resistance, calling out political mismanagement, lies and a business-as-usual mindset from Government figures which is leading us into a climate hell. @euronews
A recent report found an 80% decline of Greater Sage-Grouse populations since 1965. And their precious habitat is threatened by an aggressive non-native grass. Urge Congress to support sagebrush habitat restoration today and #SaveGrouse: https://t.co/Z2ThZ0UaWQ
The risk of blood clots (pulmonary embolism and DVT) and bleeding events with Covid: Country-wide data from Sweden indicates the heightened risk extends out to 6 months and occurs even with mild infections in first 30 days https://t.co/JYf7zLkuOB

lots of discussion about variant-specific COVID vaccines, boosters of original-recipe vaccine, and whether we should adopt a flu-shot-like model for future updates. so a quick thread on some pertinent pieces from my recent coverage. 1/

Despite their cuddly appearance, American pikas—the smallest members of the lagomorph group—are among North America's toughest #animals.👀
Pikas are one of the few #mammals in the lower 48 states that can survive their entire lives in alpine terrain.✅

This bill, which would criminalize Missourians access to abortion, has no exceptions for abortions needed for miscarriages or non-viable pregnancies.
Those are NONE of the governments' business. It's radical, extreme, and the exact opposite of small government. #moleg
Proud to watch my colleagues stand up to support reproductive freedom in Missouri. The constant attacks are frustrating—but what’s worse is when they come from folks who genuinely don’t understand the biology involved. #moleg

By now, you've most likely played or heard about Wordle, the hugely popular daily word puzzle. Well, one of Audubon's very own designers @hootalex has created a modified version that uses bird-banding codes instead of words. https://t.co/AmgtAbWN9a
Since 2019, a series of monthly bird walks on Capitol Hill has offered a low-key way to put birds on the minds of Congress - and provide common ground in a place that's more partisan than it's ever been. @audubonsociety@Tykee_James
