@AsamiTerajima I had my first communion at that cathedral. Although I’m Jewish. Long story. It has special significance to the Polish people because the Black Madonna Częstochowa was crowned Queen of Poland there in 1665. Thanks so much for the updates from Lviv.

@juliaioffe @terrelljstarr Julia is 100% right, a terrifying image for us Jews. The Cossacks raped and slaughtered Ukranean Jews for centuries. They are also an awesome fierce symbol of empowered unbowed independent Ukraine. We can’t erase history, but healing & redemption is possible. Ukraine is proof.
