@Lazar_Berman Wish there was video. Thank you for these windows. They are giving me life. I’m a Ukrainian American Jew born and raised in Lviv. Knowing Jewish life is still there is everything, especially right now. 💜🙏🏻
@ni_na_yotu Oppressors always feel the most victimized. It’s the same with everyone whining about how unfair cancel culture is. There should be a new term: “Russian fragility”. Ya nie znayu yak tze perevizty na ukrayinsku movu. But yes, Fuck them and Slava ukraine!
@AsamiTerajima I had my first communion at that cathedral. Although I’m Jewish. Long story. It has special significance to the Polish people because the Black Madonna Częstochowa was crowned Queen of Poland there in 1665. Thanks so much for the updates from Lviv.
@AVindman@ZelenskyyUa It’s like he is embodying the prophetic leadership that we are all starved for that is called for now, that all of us have a potential for when as Leonard Cohen said, “the emergency becomes articulate.” Well the emergency has become articulate and he sure is up to the task.
@juliaioffe@terrelljstarr Julia is 100% right, a terrifying image for us Jews. The Cossacks raped and slaughtered Ukranean Jews for centuries. They are also an awesome fierce symbol of empowered unbowed independent Ukraine. We can’t erase history, but healing & redemption is possible. Ukraine is proof.
@Lazar_Berman Thanks for that. An American Jew born and raised in Lviv here, seeing this, for the first time in nine days I was able to cry soft tears. Please keep posting.
@mrsorokaa I was born and raised in Lviv but grew up in the states. I’ve watched with pride at the revolutions my generation has led in my homeland. But today you are leading a revolution of conscience in the world. And you will win. So proud of you all. Slava Ukraine. god protect you all.
@Rocky_324156 It’s a complicated image it has a rainbow but makes queerness derogatory. He has criminalized and abused the queer community in Russia. It’s not ok to make queerness something laughable, they have to fight enough stereotypes. Also yes. #Fucknputin.
@mattyglesias When we were all running in the 90 Ukrainian nationalism seemed interchangeable with antisemitism. The history of Ukraneans and the Jews is not an easy one but today Ukraine is the spirit of defiance in the face if tyranny and it turns out it is leading the world #SlavaUkraini
