I was 14 when business stopped being a word and became a way of life.

📋 GOVT NOTIFICATION ALERT — 13 MAY 2026
India revises Gold & Silver import duties — 3 gazettes issued overnight.
What changed:
🔸 Basic Customs Duty → 5% to 10%
🔸 Agri Infra Cess → 1% to 5%
🔸 Bank concessional rate → 4.35% to 10%
Net impact:
Total customs load jumps from 6.5% → 16%
Effective landed cost (incl. IGST): ~19%
This reverses the entire July 2024 duty cut in one shot.
Context: India’s gold import bill hit $72B in FY26.
Rupee under pressure. West Asia crisis escalating.
The move was coming. It’s here now.
