#VernonActing The words of Michael Caine “It is more truthful, and more potent, to fight against the tears, only yielding after all those defence mechanisms are exhausted.” Vernon Acting - So, don't post what the character is feeling....feel it.

#MatthewPerry So saddened to hear of the passing of Matthew Perry. He was someone I would have loved to have met. A friend who met him a number of times says - He was sarcastically polite, constantly irreverent, often chatty and always funny. RIP.

#vernonacting #actingclassmanchester An actor needs the range not just to play a natural character, but an extreme over the top unnatural character. This week actors will be workshopping monologues from famous movies. From real, natural characters to an extreme, crazy ghost!

[VernonActingMethod @VernonActing]

#VernonActing #actingclassesManchester #actorslife This week in the evening screen acting class - actors will be workshopped and perform different scenes - as diverse as Barbie to Apocalypse Now! Should be a interesting challenge for them! https://t.co/3DUBgv1pff

#actorslife #vernonacting #actingclass this week’s class highlight was the great 2 minute monologue from Barbie. Well done to Becky. You rose to the challenge, and nailed it. Can’t wait to see next week’s version.

[VernonActingMethod @VernonActing]

#actorslife #actingclass #VernonActing This week in class. Actors performed one of the few serious emotional scenes from Bridesmaids. But also had restrictions with blocking in a tight location. This can put some actors of their game.

So sad to hear of the passing of Ray Stevenson. I worked with him on a British TV movie - Some Kind of Life - in the mid 90's. He was the nicest guy. https://t.co/c8cSsuUMtM

[VernonActingMethod @VernonActing]

#actingclass #Vernonacting In this weeks class Actors were asked to pick monologues from their past that they had performed well, or found challenging. After performing each monologue I added a surprise twist ;)

#VernonActing At the BAFTA after party. chatting with Brendan Fraser. Incredible performance in THE WHALE.

In this week's acting class it's back to monologues for the actors. I can work with individual actors far more effectively when they perform a monologue. There's nowhere to hide!

[VernonActingMethod @VernonActing]

#BAFTA2023 #LA #MichelleYeoh fun at the BAFTA Tea party. Had another nice chat with the wonderful and warm Michelle Yeoh. She has my vote for best actress for her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once.

#actorslife #actingclass #VernonActingMethod This weeks classes actors were give mostly different monologues to individually push were I felt they needed stretch themselves. A successful week of classes. Back to duologues next week.

[VernonActingMethod @VernonActing]

#actorslife #ManchesterActingClass #VernonaActing This week in class: actors are performing a duologue playing both characters (not at the same time). This is actually an exercise in use of body language and voice.

[VernonActingMethod @VernonActing]

#actorslife #VernonActing This week in class I was work-shopping actors performing a scene from the dark comedy The Guard. They had to perform with an Irish or Croatian accent. It's always challenging to perform in a voice which isn't your own. It requires a good deal of practice

[VernonActingMethod @VernonActing]

#actorslife #actingclass #VernonActing This week's class - I'm work-shopping a duologue from Ace Ventura. A great challenge for an actor to play a character with such extreme body language & voice. It pushes an actor to use every aspect of physicality. A great high-energy class.
