I didn't have any domain experience whatsoever when I started building Verora. All I had was a comment from my brother about how his customers struggle and absolute hate verifying insurance before a routine dental appointment.
I thought to myself "how hard could it possibly be?"
I didn't have coding experience either.
I didn't really know where to start so I asked Gemini how I could build a simple app. I was guided toward Claude.
I started using Claude, was extremely confused about what VS Code was and I didn't know who Json was either. Hell, I didn't even know how to open powershell.
I copied and pasted blocks from Claude into VS code for days. Finally figured out I could have Claude do it for me.
Today, Verora is a native and proprietary small language model for dental. Trained on tens of thousands of edge cases.
Verora got to where it is because we. shipped. early.
I sold this half baked product to a couple of dental practices on day 11. It was a nightmare for me. Super stressful. Wasn't entirely sure what I was even doing. But, you fake it til you make it.
Because I took on customers at day 11 and continued to do so, I learned what people really wanted. What they were looking for.
Pivoting and enhancing was simple because it was just part of the actual build process.
It sped up production exponentially.
Don't be afraid to launch. Don't be afraid to sell your product. Churn happens. Just milk those customers for all the feedback you can get before you send that refund.
Keep going and keep pushing.
This is what insurance verification looks like at 3 AM.
๐ฅ We made a short clip of the part of the job we're proudest of โ the work that happens while your office is dark.
On the top, the plain-English version of why practices switch.
On the bottom, our native AI swarm running a live rescue: chasing down a plan, catching the frequency limit and the waiting period, and turning "we'll have to call them" into a clear answer before anyone clocks in.
No hold music. No portal logins. Just every patient on tomorrow's schedule is verified days in advance โ coverage, remaining benefits, and potential denials or downgrades:
โก LEAT clauses
๐ฅ Missing tooth clauses
๐ Bitewings + Pano --> FMX (ouch)
๐ Embedded annual maxes in Medicare plans without an... annual max.
Among other things you'd otherwise discover two weeks later when you aren't paid.
The boring work should run itself. That's the whole idea.

@pmitu lol. Ok. This software and the proprietary AI small language model was entirely "vibe coded". Completely compliant. Lots of paying customers ($499+/mo). Industry validation. But yes. Go on.

Dental insurance should not be the source of pain at a practice. It should be the source of revenue.
Everyday thousands of dental professionals navigate complicated payer portals, translate oddly structured benefit statements, and with paranoia, search diligently for any potential denials, downgrades or pre-authorization requirements.
Instead of focusing on the patient experience, these professionals are pulling their hair out on hold with payers.
That changes when Verora enters your practice. Verora is capable of finding all of those potential denials well in advance of the patients appointment.
Playing defense in place of the professionals who should be focused on patient experience.
Verora swiftly changes to an offensive posture to find those 100% covered benefits that patients are fully qualified for but are overlooked due to those complicated benefits statements.

The broken link between specialty and GP dental practices. The referral systems currently being used: fax machines, voicemail, and hope.
The Verora Network closes this gap with a full service end to end solution. Connecting a practice to their partners and vice versa. This solves the 33% revenue leakage that specialty practices see from missed referrals.
This solves the discombobulated process that puts a patient (already stressed) I'm a more easy to manage situation. A consierge like service.
Allowing communication between practices in a HIPAA compliant, closed loop system.
The Verora Network is free for all partners of Verora customers. Removing the friction of fax machines and crossed fingers.

Dentists & practice managers in the US
How many hours is your front desk burning on insurance verification every week?
How much $ are you quietly losing to silent downgrades, unused benefits, and claims that never get paid?
Iโm Thomas. Army vet turned self-taught builder. A surprise dental bill after my dentist โverifiedโ my coverage lit the fire.
That broken process is why I built Verora AI.
Your team gets 8โ10 hours back every week.
You stop leaving money on the table.
Your patients actually get the care theyโve been paying for.
And yeahโฆ it feels good to finally win one against the insurance companies everyone hates.
Meet Zesty โ your tireless AI worker that runs overnight.
By 5โ6 AM sheโs already:
Verified 95.3% of tomorrowโs schedule hands-free (Stedi + 1,200+ payers)
Flagged every denial risk (downgrades, frequency limits, missing-tooth clauses)
Surfaced $15K+/month in fully-covered hygiene your patients already paid for
Caught underpayments and wrote everything straight back into Open Dental, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, etc. Real result for a typical 400-patient/mo practice? $200K+ extra revenue per year.
On full autopilot.
Founders & builders: this is vertical AI built with scar tissue and grit.
Dental pros: your front desk just got 10 hours back every week.

Iโm Thomas โ Army vet, former enterprise business dev leader, and now a self-taught builder who started with โhow do I even open the terminal?โ in Claude.
A bad cavity from my dentist sent me to oral surgery. The referral process was a total nightmare. They thought they knew my coverageโฆ
then I got hit with a surprise bill way higher than quoted.
Turns out this isnโt rare โ dental insurance verification and referrals are completely broken.
