This in turn means that any insights gained is restricted and may not represent the full picture. Additionally, with most transactions becoming digital, owning data has never been easier.
In today's day & age, it's no longer enough to "view" data. Owning data is becoming increasingly important, especially with more data analytics. Furthermore, not owning your data automatically limits the extent to which you can analyse that data.
Having visibility in the last mile is to be able to see and have access to every step of the pick up or delivery process.
Recently, "visibility" has also been extended beyond operations to encompass the availability of data that is gained from the fulfilment of the deliveries.
In the last mile of the supply chain, the word "visibility" has been used with both increasing frequency & promise. It's a promise of transparency in operational processes and daily on-the-ground logistics executions.
