The handover of the Lapland Central Hospital extension stage 1 has been completed. A large wooden canopy marks the new entrance for the emergency. The curving shape of the canopy and lobby ceiling resembles the forms of the northern landscape. #verstasarchitects #rovaniemi

The perfect sunny weather got Verstas Team attuned to the summer holiday season which is right around the corner! We visited two recently completed projects of Verstas. The day was completed with a dinner, sauna and first dippings into the (still ice cold) sea at @Hanaholmen.

The results of the Espoolaistentalo architectural competition have been announced. The award committee commended Verstas Architects´ proposal "Virta" for its calm and comprehensive architecture.

For us, environmental responsibility means concrete actions in our own operations. As a proof of this, we have been awarded the EcoCompass Certificate which is the environmental management system of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation.

Today we started celebrating the upcoming holiday together - Happy May Day everyone!

Based on an excellent job application, we offered a young school student the chance to get to know the profession. The student from the Ressu Comprehensive School spent a week on an internship with us. The week included e.g. building a scale model & visiting a construction site.

Our project in Kangasala is advancing. Lamminrahka Education Centre will be built in two phases of which the first one will be completed this autumn. Currently, the interior and exterior finishes are being completed. @Lamminrahka

Verstas takes part in ArPa team who wins Kultainen Hokkari architect's rinkball cup! The tournament was held for the 25th time and it was the 4th time ArPa won the "Golden Skate" trophy. Ilkka and Atte from Verstas contributed the team consisting of players from fellow offices.

We are delighted to announce the news that the Helsinki City Board has approved the new mortuary building in Malmi designed by Verstas Architects. If the City Council approves the building, construction will start this fall.

Last week we were invited to the roofing celebration of the Kari Campus in Rauma, on the west coast of Finland. At the event, Rauma mayor Esko Poikela gave a speech and bands delighted us with their fantastic performances. The building will open at the end of this year.

This week ArkMuoto 2023- events by @ArchinfoFinland have celebrated the importance of Finnish architecture and design. As part of these events, Verstas Architects organized an open architectural tour in the new Puotila primary school.

This week the foundation stone was laid down for the new StadinAO, Helsinki Vocational College and Adult Institute designed by Verstas Architects. At the event, Helsinki deputy mayor Nasima Razmyar gave a speech and buried a time capsule inside the foundation stone.#stadinoppari
