“My people have committed two evils:
Evil #1
they have forsaken me,
the fountain of living waters,
Evil #2
and hewed out cisterns for themselves,
broken cisterns that can hold no water.” Jeremiah 2:13
The essence of evil:
Finding God unsatisfying, and preferring dust.
Devastated the pasture raised farm to table organic grocery store by my work is permanently closed 😭 Used to get so many goodies from there on a regular basis. Detroit really stinks at keeping healthy food places in business.
When I was Roman Catholic and tried my best to diligently keep the sabbath by going to mass, go to monthly confession, not covet, not lust in the heart (adultery) etc., the Holy Spirit brought this verse to my attention:
"Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?" Galatians 3:3
Disappointed that I couldn’t make it to my hermaneutics class at church this evening. The day got the best of me. Hoping this workout will be the reset I need to keep going. It’s only Tuesday 😅
@YokedWithChrist I always bring my water with me and on days when I’ve had a rough night or morning it’s coffee. Two weeks ago my throat got dry from singing out during worship. Imagine if I wasn’t allowed to take a quick sip of my water so I could continue to praise God. It’s such a silly debate
@moosegirlie Like most things in our sanctification, I think it largely comes down to a heart posture change. Also, submitting our identity fully to him and allowing him to shape us into his image without holding on to anything we see as part of who we are.
The world thinks we own our bodies. This is what the Bible says on the matter. I believe this speaks directly to both the abortion and gender conversations. Being in Christ means submitting your body to him. Not submitting to Christ is rebellion against your creator.
