I am pleased to share my first first-authored peer-reviewed paper!! Thanks to Drs. @WheatSingh, @SantoshAAFC, Muhammad Iqbal, and Randy Kutcher for their contributions!
Hot off the press, new paper by @VFetterley Addressing whether race-typing studies are helping wheat breeders?
Race typing of P. striiformis f.sp. tritici using an improved differential set will accelerate genetic gains for stripe rust resistance in Canada https://t.co/K0OQZ1eWlR
Hot off the Press: our stripe rust work is now published in BMC Biology! We reported findings that no one has ever reported before. Kudos to @Erysiphales for leading the project & thanks to our collaborators @Bakkeren@WheatSingh@brentmccallum et al.

Stripe rust (natural infection) has exploded in our winter wheat nursery! Excited to rate this material from @grafwheat @harwinderssidhu, Curt McCartney and our own!
Crop wild relatives harbours untapped genetic diversity that can and should be use to improve our crops. Synthetic hexaploids can be used to capture some of the diversity in tauschii that did not make it in wheat @CpgUbc @ubcLFS
We (@CpgUbc @VFetterley@RamanKBamrah@BharatYadav_UBC) are hosting Canadian Phytopathology Society - BC Regional Meeting on Nov. 9-10. Open and free to attend for anyone interested and if you want to attend, get in touch with one of us.
Which registration plate is more beautiful? Quebec or Saskatchewan? My student @VFetterley and myself have a disagreement. Below are pics of both the plates for you to see! Help us decide ha!
