Have you seen the NCETM article with lessons from TIMSS 2023? The lack of spatial play (especially for girls) and the underperformance on geometry questions in y5 are 2 of the key issues raised. We focus on both of these in the SKTM spatial reasoning programme.
If you teach around Leicester contact @emsmathshub for more details… or for Nottingham/Derby @EM_MathsHub is running the programme in your area. Modules start in January so please apply asap.
There are still spaces available on the Primary SKTM programmes in the East Midlands @emsmathshub @EM_MathsHub … sign up to find out more about what spatial reasoning is and how it supports mathematics - it is certainly not just geometry!
