I love Amanda Jones and it breaks my heart that she has been "collateral damage" in the buckshot approach of organizations trying to intimidate librarians. Librarians have the noble role of protecting the rights of individuals to read what they want. Don't like it? Don't read it.

Research shows that certified librarians directly impact student outcomes. The work of librarians is underestimated: research& tech training, collection dev., etc. Cutting certified school librarian positions is not a good way to make up budget shortfalls.
