Walter was a very bad boy…
A Latin inscription from a church in Hertfordshire. The transcription is ‘Walter (con) Ba iii dedit annuatin sub pena excomunicatus majore’. It roughly translates as ‘Walter is to give annually 3 (somethings) under penalty of great excommunication’.

Lovely to speak to @WorcsArchSoc tonight about my research into historic #graffiti and #medieval seals. Thanks for having me and for the great questions and comments 🙂
@SarahBlick3@WorcsArchSoc There are certainly some similarities, yes! The paper is on my academia page if you want to have a look. I'd be interested in your thoughts 🙂.
So grateful for beautiful and engaging places like @WhitworthArt and @McrMuseum I can visit with my daughter whilst she is having hospital treatment in #Manchester. Access to #art and #heritage brings us happiness in very hard times ♥️. It's value is immeasurable.
