CBS: Could Fire Point’s weapons escalate the war?
Terekh, Fire Point CEO: That is a great example of Russian propaganda.
Russia started this war. Ukraine is defending itself. None of Ukraine’s actions against Russia are an escalation. 1/
‼️Dans une pièce d’hôpital, une toute petite fille aux cheveux blonds est assise sur le lit. 💔
Invincible. 💙💛
To put Russia's appetite for more land into the context it deserves by showing what they've done with the apparently insufficient land they already have, I decided to combine all my old and new travel guides through Russia's very posh cities into one colossal final thread.🧵
FUN FACT: During WW2, four brothers from the same Jewish family signed up to fight against the Nazi's. One one of the four brothers survived. His grandson is the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. 🇺🇦
I did say these things about Ukraine and Zelensky and I am not deleting my posts because I’ve realized, I was wrong.
I was living in a media echo chamber and I was propagandized by Russian media on social media to believe those things.
So I came to Ukraine to see the country for myself. I am going to try to find evidence for the propaganda I’ve been fed, and if I don’t find it, I will let everyone know so they too can come to see the light.
On day one, I’ve already seen photos of dead priests in Bucha murdered by Russia and I saw the mass grave where the bodies of murdered Christians were placed after Russia sent forces from Chechnya to massacre innocent people.
I spoke with officials who rescue POWs and they showed me photos of Ukrainian POWs who had swastikas engraved into their forehead by Russians.
Who are the Nazis? 🤔 I was lied to for years.
I realized Ukraine and @ZelenskyyUa aren’t the jihadi apologists… but Russia and Putin are!
I was wrong! I have a responsibility to correct the record.
Russia is very good at information warfare.
Ulyana Vorona, a promising Ukrainian athlete was killed by a 🇷🇺 gliding bomb while waiting for a bus in 🇺🇦 Sumy. She was just 13.
Meanwhile, IOC is welcoming 🇷🇺 Russia back to @Olympics.
I thought the pivotal moment that changed my life would be my wedding.
Instead, after tracing the chain backward, I ended up in a cucumber field in Soviet Ukraine.
Funny how life works.

Russia has spent $1 billion in the last few days attacking Kyiv. Not building roads, hospitals or fixing the failing economy - on murdering civilians. This is the priority of a nation totally obsessed with terrorism and nothing else.
Pharmacist handed me someone else's medication and I didn't realize until I got home.
Opened the bag. Pills I'd never seen before. Name on the bottle said "Robert Chen."
I'm not Robert Chen.
Drove back. Different pharmacist at the counter.
Me: Wrong medication. This is for Robert Chen.
Her: Let me check.
She scanned it.
Her: System says Robert Chen picked this up twenty minutes ago.
Me: I picked it up. I'm David Park.
Her: Did you show ID?
Me: Nobody asked for ID.
She called the guy who'd helped me over. He looked panicked.
Him: I definitely checked ID.
Me: You asked my name and handed me a bag.
Him: (pause) Oh no.
Turned out Robert Chen picked up my medication at the same time. Same confusion. Nobody checked anything properly.
Her: I'll call Mr. Chen.
She called him on speaker.
Robert: Hello?
Her: Did you pick up your prescription today?
Robert: Yes, why?
Her: Can you check the name on the bottle?
Robert: (pause) This says David Park.
Her: You're Robert Chen?
Robert: Yes.
Her: And David Park is here with your medication.
Robert: (laughed) How did this happen?
Her: We're very sorry. Can you come back?
Robert: I'm forty minutes away. Can David just bring it to me and we swap?
She looked uncomfortable but agreed.
Drove to his house. He opened the door holding my medication and a coffee mug.
Robert: This is ridiculous.
Me: Completely.
We swapped bags. He invited me in for coffee. Seemed rude to refuse.
Talked for an hour. He told me about his daughter in Portland. I told him about my job.
Robert: Want my number in case they mess up again?
Me: You think they will?
Robert: That guy seemed very flustered.
He texted me two weeks later asking if I wanted to meet at the pharmacy to double-check our prescriptions.
We did. Both correct this time.
Got coffee after anyway.
We've been meeting for coffee every other Thursday for three months now.
My girlfriend thinks it's weird I'm friends with a seventy-year-old I met through a pharmacy error.
But Robert gives better advice than most of my actual friends.
Plus we both switched to CVS.
Just in case.
My neighbor accidentally caused the funniest situation I've ever witnessed.
I live in a row of townhouses where everyone's driveways are connected. My neighbor, Dale, is a 60 something retired electrician who spends most of his time obsessively washing his truck. Like, multiple times a week. The man loves that truck more than most people love their children.
Last Tuesday, I'm inside making dinner and I hear Dale outside yelling, Not angry yelling, More like panicked yelling.
I go out there, Dale is standing in his driveway staring at the ground. There's a cat sitting in the middle of his freshly washed truck's hood.
"Is that your cat?" he asks me.
"I don't have a cat, Dale."
"Well whose cat is this?"
The cat is just sitting there, Completely relaxed, Tail wrapped around its paws, Sitting on Dale's truck like it paid for it.
Dale tries to shoo it off, The cat does not move. He tries again, Nothing. He gets a broom and gently nudges it. The cat looks at him with the most unimpressed expression I've ever seen on an animal and stays put.
"I just waxed this," Dale says, like he's grieving.
Over the next 45 minutes, I watch a 63 year-old man try every non-confrontational method to remove a cat from his truck.
He opened a can of tuna and put it on the ground, the cat didn't look at it.
He tried a laser pointer, Nothing. He called animal control, They said they don't come out for cats sitting on things.
At one point he just sat on his porch with his head in his hands.
"What if I just wait it out?" he said.
"Dale, it's a cat. It could sit there for eight hours."
He looked at me, Then at the cat, Then back at me.
"Can I pet it at least? If it's going to ruin my clear coat?"
He went over and petted the cat. The cat immediately started purring and rolled over onto its back. Dale spent the next twenty minutes petting this cat on his truck hood.
The cat left on its own around 9pm. Dale went inside, I thought that was the end of it.
Wednesday morning I go out to my car. There's a note on my windshield.
"The cat came back, I bought cat food. Don't judge me."
I looked over at Dale's porch. There was a small bowl of cat food and a folded beach towel on the passenger seat of the truck, which he'd left the window down for.
I saw him last Sunday. The cat was on the hood again. Dale was sitting in a lawn chair next to the truck drinking coffee and reading the paper.
"Morning, Dale."
"She likes the hood. I've accepted it."
He named her Marbles. He says he doesn't own her, she just has a truck.
