Cyber-flashing is the act of sending unsolicited sexual images or videos, including pictures of genitals or sexual activity, without a person’s consent.
New figures obtained by The Irish News show the PSNI has recorded 180 cases since 2024 - that's 70 each year since the act became a criminal offence.

The police have confirmed that they believe the deaths of three people in Ballymena was a double murder followed by a ‘sudden death’.
Investigations into the suspected murder-suicide are ongoing, the PSNI said in a statement issued on Tuesday afternoon with officers liaising with the Polish Consulate. The police have also confirmed that one of the victims was an eight-year-old girl.
We know it's not just women who face abuse at the hands of their partners, but it shouldn't be the responsibility of the abused victim to leave their home. How about the abuser stops the abuse? We need to start blaming the perpetrators of these crimes, rather than the victims.
