Pinal County made the right decision.

Supervisors voted 4–1 to reject the La Osa data center project after residents raised serious concerns about water, power and long-term impacts on the community. The developer had already reduced the project by roughly 80% and offered additional concessions—but the Board still said no.

That’s called local government doing its job.

Arizona’s water and power resources are finite. Economic development matters—but it cannot come at the expense of the people who already live here.

Pinal County chose its residents and Arizona’s future. 🇺🇸

Reconquista deserves serious discussion—not conspiracy theories.

The idea is rooted in the historical claim that the American Southwest was once Mexican territory and, in some interpretations, can be “reclaimed” through demographic, cultural and political influence rather than military force.

Mexico’s government has repeatedly emphasized its political and cultural relationship with Mexicans living in the United States. In January 2025, President Claudia Sheinbaum even displayed a 1607 map of Mexican territory while responding to the U.S. debate over the Gulf of Mexico. (Axios⁠)

That does not prove a Mexican plan to retake American territory.

But national security requires something more sophisticated than asking whether an invasion is coming.

The real question is:

Can sustained foreign influence—combined with concentrated populations, political organization, economic interests and transnational loyalties—create strategic vulnerabilities inside the United States?

A sovereign nation has every right to protect its interests.

So does ours.

We should be willing to examine these issues without hysteria, but also without pretending they don’t exist.

After the Mexican-American War, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (1848) transferred enormous portions of what had been Mexican territory to the United States, including present-day California, Nevada, Utah and substantial portions of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming. Texas had already separated from Mexico.

The modern concept of Reconquista developed much later, particularly among elements of the Chicano nationalist movement in the 1960s–70s. It became associated with Aztlán, a concept identifying the American Southwest as the historic homeland of Mexican/Chicano people.

The more modern interpretation

There are actually several versions of Reconquista:

Territorial Reconquista
The most literal interpretation: Mexico eventually regains some or all of the Southwest.
Demographic Reconquista
Mexican migration transforms the demographic character of the Southwest, eventually producing a predominantly Hispanic/Mexican-American population.
Cultural Reconquista
Spanish language, Mexican culture and Mexican identity become dominant or highly influential in the region.
Political Reconquista
Mexican-Americans, including dual nationals, become an organized political constituency capable of influencing U.S. policy in ways favorable to Mexico.

This last interpretation is particularly important because Mexico has explicitly pursued policies designed to maintain connections between Mexico and Mexicans living abroad. Former Mexican President Vicente Fox, for example, famously articulated the idea that “the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders” in discussing Mexicans living in the United States.

Absolutely. Fear and doubt can be powerful distractions, but they don’t get to define our potential. Sometimes the path only makes sense when we look back at it.

Have Faith in God’s Plan. Keep showing up. Keep doing the work. Keep moving forward.

What feels like a setback today may ultimately be the very thing that prepares us for where we’re meant to be. Believe in the journey—and, most importantly, believe in yourself.

In my practice, repeat offenders are the norm.

And too often, the pattern starts long before the courtroom—with parents who never taught accountability, consequences, or respect for others.

Accountability is taught. So is entitlement.

If we want to reduce crime, we have to start building responsible citizens before they ever enter a courtroom.

Our federal government has become so fraudulent and self-protecting that accountability now seems to depend on which political party holds power. That is not justice—it’s institutional failure.

If there is credible evidence of criminal conduct, investigate it. If the evidence supports charges, prosecute it. Party affiliation should never determine who is above the law.

Equal justice isn’t a campaign slogan. It’s the standard.
