Kolkata, West Bengal: As she arrives in Kolkata, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar says, "For the first time, an NDA government is being formed. It is a matter of great happiness."
#WATCH | Kolkata | "I want to thank the people of Bhabanipur very much... I saw an interview in which Didi said she went into our house to fight. This time, Suvendu has come to your house and defeated you. The significance of this victory for the BJP isn't limited to party expansion. The significance of this victory isn't limited to the expansion of our ideology. The significance of this victory isn't just that the BJP and NDA secured their 21st state. Its significance lies in filling the biggest hole in national security," says Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
#WATCH | Kolkata, West Bengal: BJP leader Agnimitra Paul says, "We are extremely happy that Suvendu Adhikari is our Chief Minister, who has been unanimously elected and nominated by 207 BJP MLAs. He is completely eligible because the way he has fought for the last five years inside the assembly and outside the assembly..."
#WATCH | Kolkata, West Bengal: Maharashtra Dy CM Eknath Shinde says, "People have expressed confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and therefore, people here want development... Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid close attention to this area, and he completely stopped the rigging and law and order situations that were prevalent in the elections, and people voted fearlessly... The double-engine government will now run, and development will take place here. The youth here will get employment, and law and order will be strengthened. I congratulate Suvendu Adhikari, who is going to become the Chief Minister tomorrow..."
Tears in the eyes of every nationalist today! 🥺
Amit Shah ji dedicates the historic Bengal victory to the 321 BJP Karyakartas who were brutally murdered by the ruling ecosystem since 2014.
We will never forget their sacrifice. The Lotus blooms on their unmatched bravery!

This time, Bengal didn’t murmur change — it voted for it. From villages to cities, only one message echoed: 𝐄𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫. 𝐄𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬. 𝐄𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬.
▶️ Bengal wants development.
▶️ Bengal wants jobs.
▶️ Bengal wants a government that works, not one that threatens.
Watch the onset of a new era. The goal to build #ViksitBengal begins today. 📈
Golden period of Bengal starts. Sri @SuvenduWB dressed in Gaudiya traditional attire for the Oath taking ceremony. Had a long inspiring talk this morning
Holding his hands I stepped into politics. The first BJP chief minister from Bengal, the craftsman of “Sonar Bangla” under whose leadership Bengal will reach new heights. My dear Dada is Bengal’s new Chief Minister. Respect and Love @SuvenduWB
How BJP respects its seniors and karyakartas…
On the stage, the Prime Minister took the blessings of Shri Makhanlal Sarkar, one of the BJP’s most senior workers in West Bengal.
At the age of 98, Shri Makhanlal Sarkar remains one of the earliest grassroots figures associated with the nationalist movement in post-Independence India.
In 1952, he was arrested in Kashmir while accompanying Syama Prasad Mukherjee during the movement to hoist the Indian tricolour there.
After the formation of the BJP in 1980, he became the organisational coordinator for the districts of West Dinajpur, Jalpaiguri, and Darjeeling. Within just one year, he helped enrol nearly 10,000 members.
From 1981 onward, he served continuously for seven years as district president, an exceptional achievement at a time when BJP leaders generally could not remain in the same organisational position for more than two years.
A historic dawn for West Bengal indeed.
It is a moment of profound pride and jubilation to welcome Visionary Leader Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji to the City of Joy.
Today, as we witness the Swearing-in-Ceremony of the first-ever BJP Government in West Bengal since Independence, we fulfill the dreams of our founding fathers. Today marks the end of decades of misrule and the beginning of a 'Double Engine' era of development, peace, and prosperity.
The era of 'Sonar Bangla' officially begins.
Welcome, Pradhan Mantri Ji 🙏

A year ago, our armed forces displayed unparalleled courage, precision and resolve during #OperationSindoor. They gave a fitting response to those who dared to attack innocent Indians at Pahalgam. The entire nation salutes our forces for their valour.
Operation Sindoor reflected India’s firm response against terrorism and an unwavering commitment to safeguarding national security. It also highlighted the professionalism, preparedness and coordinated strength of our armed forces. At the same time, it showcased the growing jointness among our forces and underlined the strength that India’s quest for self-reliance in the defence sector has brought to our national security.
Today, a year later, we remain as steadfast as ever in our resolve to defeat terrorism and destroy its enabling ecosystem.
