@foxtarts So basically, for most day to day uses they are the same word even though technically there are reasons as to why one would want/need to distinguish biological sex from a social category. That being said while different I still think they are linked concepts. How's that?
@foxtarts@hungeecheeter My point was not "its not universally accepted therefore its false." My reference to round earth kind of disproves thats an idea i hold. My point is that your framing of this being a "settled science" is not an accurate description of the discourse. If u gtg thats fine tho
@foxtarts Ok so read back your tweet. What exactly do you think I am even contesting with you as of right now? Because O legit think you are projecting. What exactly is it do you think you are disagreeing with me about? Because easier you accused me of ignoring you and your points.
@foxtarts@hungeecheeter Why are you bringing Christians up bro? Extremely unsubtle deflection. Do you want me to say "both of you are wrong?" Will that make you feel better? You already don't have a point. I haven't ignored a single message of yours. Just call it quits go back to work.
@foxtarts The earth being round is not universally accepted, but its demonstrably proven to be true. That is not the same with your ideas on gender because... you literally cant prove it. Theres nothing empirical about it, theres nothing to measure it with. Its just an idea.
@foxtarts@hungeecheeter Bro, what can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. you cant just claim that 90% of the world is wrong actually and that your preferred ideas which are still debated to this day are actually 100% correct and its everyone elses job to just accept it.
@foxtarts@hungeecheeter You are comparing an empirical fundamental concept that exists independent from the human experience to a subjective internal concept that not even everyone agrees on the science on. That is a false equivalence. A better comparison would be to say, manifesting.
@foxtarts@hungeecheeter Unless you are telling me that modern gender discourse maps cleanly on for example war prisoner eunuchs, who in many cultures were treated as concurred people and no longer true men, your ideas are actually like super ahistoric.
@foxtarts@hungeecheeter Ok well you are asserting that without evidence, so you have to prove thats the case otherwise why would anyone just default to believing a concept coined in 1955 is actually a secret universal truth across all societies?
@foxtarts@hungeecheeter bruh... you do realize that MOST cultures dont have a word or concept for gender right? In most parts of the world its a novel and uniquely western concept as understood today? And your definition of gender isnt even universally accepted in the west either. Thats really ignorant.
