On the morning of September 11, 2001, Barbara Olson boarded American Airlines Flight 77 at Dulles International Airport.

She was a 45-year-old former federal prosecutor, bestselling author, and frequent cable-news commentator, traveling to Los Angeles for a scheduled appearance on Bill Maher’s Politically Incorrect.

Her husband, Ted Olson, was the Solicitor General of the United States.

Flight 77 departed shortly after 8:20 a.m. with 58 passengers, six crew members, and five hijackers among them. Somewhere over Ohio the hijackers took control of the cockpit.

Passengers and crew were moved toward the rear of the aircraft. From a seatback phone, Barbara reached her husband at the Department of Justice—not once, but twice.
In the first call, lasting roughly a minute, she told him the plane had been hijacked and that the hijackers were armed with knives and box cutters.

She said the pilot appeared unaware the aircraft had turned around and that the hijackers did not know she was on the phone.

The line dropped. Minutes later she called again. She reported that the pilot had announced the hijacking, asked what she should tell the captain, and described the plane flying over houses. Ted informed her of the earlier attacks on the World Trade Center. She remained composed; the second call ended abruptly.

Ted immediately contacted the Department of Justice command center and relayed the details she had provided—one of the earliest confirmed accounts of the hijackers’ methods that morning. At 9:37 a.m. Flight 77 struck the Pentagon. All 59 people on board were killed, along with 125 people inside the building.

Two years earlier Barbara had published Hell to Pay, a bestseller that established her as a prominent political voice. On September 11 her final act was not an argument before a camera but a clear-headed report under extreme stress.

She could not alter the plane’s course. The information she passed on, however, gave investigators an early, concrete picture of what was happening in the air. That is the enduring record of her last minutes. 🌹

🚨 FRANCE IS BURNING, AND JD VANCE JUST SAID WHAT THE MEDIA WON'T.

More than 1,200 people were arrested Saturday after over 550,000 hit the streets, per the French government. 

About 150 officers were injured. Rioters set fire to a 140-year-old town hall that survived both world wars.

The official story is that it's about school standards and the cost of living. Vance didn't buy it.

"Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion. They were told it would lead to this, and they didn't listen."

He added: "This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country."

America, look at France and close the border for good.
