As an avgeek who used to fly Cessnas at Hisar Flying Club before it was shut for the airport's redevelopment, this is honestly one of the last things I expected to hear.

Hearing about what appears to be a serious runway misidentification incident at Maharaja Agrasen Airport today. Surprisingly, I haven't seen any official statement or media coverage yet.

I'm also hearing that the aircraft was carrying a former Rajya Sabha MP and his family, who were travelling to attend the funeral of Subhash Chandra's father.
The airport was also expected to see multiple VIP movements over the next two days because of the funeral.
