Dembélé consistently arrived late for training at Barça. In 2018, he stayed up late for video games, and then blamed stomach ache for arriving late for training. Club doctors found nothing. Valverde dropped him next match. Countless other examples too. Barça tried ‘human alarm clock’ knocking on his door, a driver, a security, etc. He lived 7 mins away from the training ground, but the issue persisted.

His food habits was a mess too. He loved McDonald’s, Pizza, Burgers, Coca Cola. Barça tried everything including a personal chef. But he just wouldn’t cooperate.

Sleep deprivation and food habits were the number one reason for his injury problems at Barça. He changed after his marriage, but I won’t let him rewrite history.
