Минулої ночі численні російські удари знову були націлені на житлові райони в Києві та кількох інших українських містах.

У той час як Україна майже місяць тому прийняла пропозицію Президента Трампа про повне й безумовне 30-денне припинення вогню, і в той час як ми працюємо з усіма нашими партнерами над шляхами досягнення миру, Росія продовжує війну з усе вищою інтенсивністю, не зважаючи на цивільне населення.

Ці російські удари мають закінчитися. Припинення вогню має відбутися якнайшвидше. І рішучі заходи в разі, якщо Росія й надалі тягнутиме час і відмовлятиметься від миру, мають бути вжиті.

Як довго Росія ігноруватиме мирні пропозиції Сполучених Штатів і України, продовжуючи вбивати дітей і цивільних?

On this day of national mourning in Ukraine, my thoughts are with the children and all civilian victims of the deadly strikes carried out by Russia, such as in Kryvyi Rih on April 4.

Again last night, numerous Russian strikes targeted residential areas in Kyiv and several other Ukrainian cities.

While Ukraine accepted President Trump’s proposal for a full and unconditional 30-day ceasefire nearly a month ago, and as we work with all our partners to secure peace, Russia continues its war with renewed intensity, showing no regard for civilians.

These Russian strikes must stop. A ceasefire must be reached as soon as possible. And strong action must follow if Russia continues to stall and reject peace.

How much longer will Russia toy with peace offers from the United States and Ukraine, while continuing to kill children and civilians?

France and Germany are at odds over a €150bn defense fund aimed at strengthening Europe’s military production.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz supports opening the fund to non-EU partners such as the United Kingdom, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey.

French President Emmanuel Macron says the fund should prioritize European-made weapons and opposes buying off-the-shelf from non-EU countries.
