Great news for Aberdeen’s city centre! The ambitious regeneration of Union Terrace Gardens in the heart of the city centre has been awarded Scotland’s top architecture award. Since it's regeneration the gardens have become a hugely popular landmark and a cultural and inclusive destination for the whole community.
This is the second time in recent years the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland's Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award has come north, with Aberdeen Art Gallery winning in 2021, and the first time a public realm project has been recognised in this way. Warm congratulations to everyone involved in the project.

Following the sad news of the death of His Holiness Pope Francis, our thoughts are with our Catholic community and all those affected at the University and beyond. The University owes its foundation to the support of the Vatican with the signing of a Papal Bull in 1495 granting permission for the establishment of a seat of higher learning in Aberdeen.
Delighted to step into the role of TNE and Partnerships Manager at the @AberdeenUni, within the new Directorate of Global Engagement, Marketing & Recruitment.

A ceremony to repatriate Tasmanian ancestral remains held in University of Aberdeen collections since the 1850s will take place on 21 March.
The University contacted the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre in 2019, which led to a proposal to return the remains of a young man. This was approved unconditionally by the University’s governing body, Court, in 2020 and the Centre is now in a position to take the remains back to Tasmania where they will be laid to rest in a traditional ceremony conducted by Aboriginal people.
