So let me get this straight: L.A. County DA Nathan Hochman will recommend that the #MenendezBrothers be resentenced IF they admit that their defense during the 1990s trials was COMPLETELY FABRICATED?
In order for that to be true, there would have to be an enormous conspiracy that had been cooked up by crooked defense attorneys and signed on to by dozens of family members, teachers, coaches and friends along with some of the most notable therapy experts of the 1990s including Dr. William Vicary, Dr. Stuart Hart, Dr. Ann Burgess, and Dr. Jon Conte along with many other people who testified for the defense in the first trial where half the jurors voted for manslaughter, not murder.

For decades, first trial lead prosecutor Pam Bozanich has repeatedly said in interviews, she believed the defense was 100% fabricated. Now, it appears that DA Nathan Hochman is drinking the same Kool Aid or just channeling Mrs. Bozanich and second trial prosecutor David Conn. These people are flat out tripping. The "conspiracy theory" is ridiculous and makes no sense.

Here's the reality: There were 51 defense witnesses at the first Menendez trial. The testimony of Erik and Lyle Menendez was only one part of the defense case.

In the retrial, Judge Stanley Weisberg allowed the defense to put on just 25 witnesses. The testimony of those who testified for the defense at Menendez 2 was severely limited by the judge. DA David Conn challenged ALL of the defense witnesses.

In the first trial, half the jurors - there were two juries, one for each brother - voted for manslaughter after hearing very detailed evidence of the abuse and life within the Menendez family.

In the retrial, there was a single jury who did NOT hear the same evidence that was presented at Menendez 1. That's the problem. It's an overly simplistic analysis by DA Nathan Hochman to say the 2nd trial jurors heard all the abuse evidence through Erik Menendez's testimony.

The 26 defense witnesses the 2nd trial jury didn't hear provided a much more complete picture of life in the Menendez family. The fact that the defense was severely limited in what they could present at the retrial was the problem.
