A clip of police forcibly removing a pro-Palestine encampment at Emerson College overnight, resulting in 108 arrests. "I was pulled by my collar, pinned to a table, thrown to the floor, then dragged into the transport building,” a student was quoted in the Boston Globe.
Students say protesters were "dragged to the ground" by police as officers cleared a pro-Palestinian encampment at Emerson College. More details: https://t.co/Ql6jYXJq1s
Boston Police had warned Emerson admin and students that the encampment was in violation of city ordinances that ban unlawful camping, likely the same to justify removing homeless encampments around the city during Boston's housing crisis, as pointed out by @DSAWorkingMass
We need to know what Florida officials told these protection-seeking Venezuelan migrants.
I doubt it was "who wants to fly to an island (pop 15,000) reachable only by air or sea, with no support services and few jobs."
If state officials lied to them, DOJ needs to get involved.
Nadie.

My latest news report with @AJEnglish going over to what led to today's #ParoNacional. The situation was tenser at the provincial roadblocks and credit to my photojournalist buddy @sarabandes012 for bringing us great images from underreported areas.

Unclear what happens now, but CONAIE remains committed to gradual resistance and organization of their bases. Ecuador is not at October 2019 levels right now. There may be updates in the AJE article later tonight or tomorrow since we published before protests in #Quito.

“[Migrants] do not cease to deploy new ways of changing their living conditions.”
More Ecuadorians leaving for US amid ‘burst in migration’ https://t.co/hbMcelx8cN
My latest article for @AJEnglish on the increase of Ecuadorians leaving for the US. According to CBP data last month, Ecuadorians account for the fourth-highest number of encounters at the US-Mexico border.
